In the "west" we count on our fingers, and when we want to display (between 1-10)these numbers to other people we hold up this amount of fingers. The flaw with this is that any number over five, and we have to use two hands. The Chinese however have a "better" method, and that is to just use on hand for all numbers between 1-10. There are small regional variations It is so simple its genius!
